PDX POW FESTIVAL
Local PDXers should make their way to the Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (POW) this weekend! The festival “empowers women to find their voice and to share their stories through innovative and quality filmmaking”. The weekend event will feature 44 films ranging from documentaries and narrative showcases, to shorts and feature films.

Raise money for the Conservation Alliance by participating in the activities you love! By logging on to the social network Plus 3, you will get rewards for your daily fitness activities! Plus 3 links their members with corporate sponsors and non-profits in a shared goal of worthwhile giving.

PUMA: JOURNEY OF FOOTBALL
Liz here at Under Solen is a huge soccer fan. If you’re from another country other than the US, you also refer to it as football, or futbol! Her sister actually produced this advertisement for Puma Africa that will air in Europe in anticipation for the World Cup that will be held in South Africa starting in June.

Coincidentally enough, Puma partnered with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in January to support the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity! The campaign is to raise awareness about habitat and species conservation- which is directly related to the extinction crisis – which happens to be the theme for this year’s Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, CO.
