Under Solen re-launched with a new website today — and a new kick-ass team. Liz Cunningham, joined forces with us this month, and brings with her a powerful force. Formerly with Bioneers, Cunningham also helped to launch SheJumps.org and can shred pow like nobody’s business. Yep, that’s her hucking off a cliff above.
Liz emailed me not long after Anna and I launched Under Solen. First off, she wanted me to join SheJumps.org — a fabulous cause working to empower women and get them outdoors. Second off, she wanted to work with us. It’s not every day you get an invitation like that. A few months later and we’re even more excited about what SheJumps is up to and we’re psyched to have Liz running with us!
Here’s what Ms. Cunningham has to say about the team: “Under Solen is a team of interactive media saavy women who passionately support and have a deep understanding of the outdoor community’s brands and causes. We’re here to fill a niche, to supplement traditional PR and marketing and give the community a proven new media powerhouse.”
The Under Solen team specializes in structuring social marketing and new media campaigns to harness the power of Web 2.0 and word-of-mouth branding, and was named the #4 top influencer at the Winter Outdoor Retailer Market in January.
“The Internet and new media have changed the way companies, organizations and individuals brand themselves, and so much of marketing is about connecting with a message or a cause. We’re providing the tools to bring these people together to push these messages out in the most interactive, dynamic way possible,” Anna said.
Along with Liz, we are pumped to have added a visual team with Allie Bombach, of Red Reel Video Media and Rachel Meyer of RM Photo. And because tend to be rather obsessed with human-powered transportation (especially involving bicycles), we’ve even thrown Jude Kirstein of Epic Wheel Works, a custom bicycle wheel-builder, into the mix. Stay tuned for some awesome projects from these ladies! And hit the team page to learn more about them!
If you haven’t figured it out yet, this isn’t business as usual. We have the passion and energy to do things differently — that could mean helping a team of National Geographic explorers live-blog from the Amazon or hitting the trail for a muddy run when we need some time to make your media strategy perfect. It’s about aligning brands with the adventurers that inspire their customers to explore, and the causes that motivate them to act. We’re all about people who are passionate about their cause. The people who are ready to walk, the walk — be they brands, advocates or adventurers.
Welcome to Under Solen. We hope you join in the fun!

Anna and Emily-
I’m so proud to know you and am just awed by the way that you’ve crashed out the gate with as much energy as Liz soaring off that cliff! I love the site- it’s clean, navigable, and bright–and I’m so impressed by the work you’re doing. Look forward to continued collaboration.
Congratulations on your new site. Keep me in mind when you have clients introducing new travel-related products. I’m always on the hunt for product giveaways for good causes such as “Passports with Purpose.”
Cheers to girl power. Wishing you much success in your new venture.
