Conservation Alliance

The Conservation Alliance is a group of outdoor industry companies that disburses its collective annual membership dues to grassroots environmental organizations. They direct our funding to community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitat, preferably where outdoor enthusiasts recreate. The Alliance was founded in 1989 by industry leaders REI, Patagonia, The North Face and Kelty, who shared the goal of increasing outdoor industry support for conservation efforts.

Since their founding, the Alliance has contributed more than $7 million to conservation projects throughout North America. The results have been remarkable. Alliance grants have helped organizations in their work to protect more than 49 million acres of land, stop or remove 27 dams, and preserve access to thousands of miles of rivers and several climbing areas.

Save Our Wild Salmon

Save Our Wild Salmon is a nationwide coalition of conservation organizations, commercial and sportsfishing associations, businesses, river groups and taxpayer advocates working collectively to restore self-sustaining, abundant, and harvestable populations of wild salmon and steelhead to the rivers, streams and oceans of the Pacific Salmon states.

Light and Motion has been designing and building lights for over 20 years. Our lights go 200 feet below the ocean and blaze trails wherever mountain bikes venture. We are riders who care deeply about building a great company that our employees and our community can be proud of. One that our customers can depend on for great products. The Mountainfilm festival began in 1979 as an opportunity for climbers and mountaineers to enjoy the rugged outdoors surrounding Telluride during the day and watch films about mountains and mountain cultures at night. It has evolved over the intervening decades to embrace a much wider and more diverse audience and our programming now stretches to the leading edges of contemporary social, cultural and environmental issues.

An orientation toward activism has increasingly defined the festival since the mid-90’s, a function of both a change in leadership as well as growing public appetite to better understand modern challenges and to help solve them.

Mission: Mountainfilm is dedicated to educating and inspiring audiences about issues that matter, cultures worth exploring, environments worth preserving and conversations worth sustaining.
