Live-blogging from the Amazon? Sounds crazy, but we helped the Epicocity Project make it happen. We developed a strategy to utilize social media live from the Amazon jungle via satellite phones.
Epicocity’s sponsors, friends and family were able to follow along the real-time SPOT messenger tracking map, read stories on the blog, Facebook and Twitter. By partnering with Under Solen, Epicocity was able to raise awareness about the threat to rivers, fish species and local fishing communities in a dynamic and interactive way like never before. For the Conservation Alliance we created an overall social media and positive brand alignment strategy, including a focus on the outreach arm of the organization, ConservationNEXT. We also developed a strategy for promotion of 2010 events, including the Backyard Collectives. Using this strategy, we promoted Conservation Alliance events and fundraisers at the Winter Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2010, creating buzz around the organization and its supporting members, resulting in the Conservation Alliance being the #3 talked about brand in social media at Outdoor Retailer.
